Copley High School's Robotic-Driven STEM Education

Located in Copley Township, Ohio, is a public school, that has corporate robotic technologies in its STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education.

Dobot Magician cobots were integrated into three of the school's engineering classes, catering to students from grades 10 through 12. Under the leadership of Kirby Harder, the head of the engineering department, the school provides students with hands-on, engaging learning experiences on robotics and programming.

“One of my second-year students unpacked one of the Dobots, installed the software on a PC, hooked up the Dobot Magician, and was quickly able to learn how to move it, write his name, and draw a simple picture. The student told me that it was very easy to set up and was impressed by how well the Dobot Magician was able to draw pictures with the pen,“ said Kirby Harder, head of the school's engineering department.

Dobot Magician cobots' versatility inspires students to create and practice through various end-effectors, such as the pen attachment facilitating drawings and artwork. It also supports advanced programming concepts, incorporating machine vision through the Dobot Vision Kit and other STEM-related tools and technologies.

Copley High School continues to explore new avenues in Magician cobots and empowers its students to become active participants in the technological landscape, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive.
