One-Stop Automated Palletizer Solution for Electrical Appliance Manufacturer

Customer Pain Points:

  • Huayu frequently needs to change production lines, and the workers need to adapt to multiple production lines. The workload is heavy, requiring the recruitment of multiple skilled workers, which results in high costs.
  • Huayu has 10 production lines, but not all will be in use at the same time. Each line requires complete programming configuration and different palletizing modes in end-of-line, meaning 10 separate solutions are needed. However, the mobility of collaborative robots (Cobots) can address the needs of multiple production lines with flexible adjustments.
  • The existing solution uses industrial robots that need to be fenced off, taking up a lot of space and unable to be moved or reconfigured for different production lines.
  • Moreover, a single industrial robot with fixed programming is not compatible across all production lines, requiring sending them back to the factory for resetting the palletizing programming.

Solution:

  • Huayu has a variety of product types, and the specific production will be based on actual order volumes. On average, the production line is changed every two weeks to a different product. There are various production scenarios, such as: operating one production line for one product, operating two production lines for one product, or operating two production lines for two different products. The product types are all distinct.
  • Huayu has pre-configured the corresponding product engineering through the use of Dobot palletizing process packages. When actually changing the product, the worker only needs to select the corresponding product engineering and click start, which can complete the product changeover.
  • Huayu has relatively low cycle time requirements, averaging 4 products per minute. Therefore, the on-site solution utilizes one palletizing workstation to correspond to two production lines, in order to improve cost-effectivenes.
